I used a few of the dribbling lessons while teaching the gather stage of research for the informative speech. Ms. Nuss shared with my classes a mini-lesson on Boolean operators and research process too.
I also tried something new this year. Instead of having students make source note cards, I had them fill out the source notes sheets that are at the bottom of the gather dribbling lessons. I have found them incredibly useful! Going into the final weeks of the speech, students are more prepared and have a higher quality of information for their speeches!
